Terms & Conditions for Speakers

All speakers agree to talk for us for FREE in return for the following:

1. You do not pay on the night (some of our past speakers have offered to, as a donation to our Basket Brigade although we really don’t expect it!).
2. We agree to promote your events after you have spoken at one of our meetings.  We do so via our regular newsletters.  You simply need to let us know the date, time, cost and a web link for your event (sorry, we cannot use PDF files on our email system).  Details must be with us by the 1st Thursday of the month in order to have them included in the next run of emails.
3. You are very welcome to promote events or sell products on the night of your talk.
4. We will include your website on our “past events” page.

Prior to Speaking:

1. You agree to provide the information referred to in the Guidance Notes 3 months prior to the event you are booked for.  If this information is not provided within this timescale, we reserve the right to reschedule your booking.
   • The title and a 150 word outline for your talk
   • A photograph and website link
   • Your speakers biography
   • An outline of the benefits of your talk to our particular audience
2. Cancellation – if for any reason you are unable to speak at the event you are booked for we require one month’s notice.

In the event of one or both of the above conditions not being met, Birmingham YES Group, as a registered charity, reserves the right to claim compensation from you for costs incurred.

Expenses & Costs:

Birmingham YES Group is a registered UK charity, with all of our profits going towards our annual Birmingham Basket Brigade.  For this reason, we ask you to support us in the following way:

1. If you require a projector or any other equipment, then we ask that you provide it, if possible.  If you cannot transport it, we can source it for you and simply ask that you cover the costs.
2. If you are travelling from a distance, then we may be able to help by getting preferential rates on hotel accommodation, however we simply ask you to cover the costs, to enable our valuable funds to go to Basket Brigade.
