BIRMINGHAM BASKET BRIGADE - Mon 22nd & Tue 23rd December 2008

Each year the Yes Group members, their families and friends, spend a day packing boxes (baskets) with a complete Christmas meal and goodies for families that otherwise would not have that meal. We obtain names from Birmingham Social Services and other charities and deliver these to the doors of these families anonymously.

It really does make a change from the drag of Christmas shopping and the stress of spending all that money. We have a great experience on the day and know that our little bit of effort has provided something for needy families at Xmas time.

This year will be our most ambitious event ever, we will be feeding 600 families in Birmingham for Christmas. We raise the funds, we buy the food, we pack it ourselves and then we have our volunteers that join us in delivering it. We need lots of volunteers this year, so we look forward to having you on the team!

You can contribute in a number of ways;

a) Through making a donation on-line, £15 will buy one basket for one family.

b) By joining us on the day and helping out with packing and/or deliveries.

c) Share this site and the information with family members, friends and colleagues.
